3. Thinning Hair
Thinning hair is a symptom of anorexia. Part of this is what we’re just talking about where red blood cells are not able to carry enough oxygen throughout the body to provide them with the nutrients that they need and help the body to regenerate. This is one of the results of that problem. When not enough oxygen or red blood cells travel throughout the body, hair can become brittle and break or fall out.
It is very common for people with anorexia to have thinning hair or hair that is coming out and it is due to the malnourishment of protein which is carried by the blood. But this hair thinning is just one of the things that can be caused by a lack of protein in the body, and it could lead to some very serious illnesses.
