Search for Articles Here >>

Everyone knows a person who swears they can’t start their day before they’ve had at least three cups of coffee; you might even be that person. Coffee can be great, and some studies have shown that it can also be great for your health – but coffee can also be bad if you consume too much of it, and some people just have an intolerance to coffee. There are many reasons you might want to cut coffee out of your diet.

Most of them are directly for health reasons. But once you stop drinking coffee, you might go through a brief period of caffeine withdrawal where your body gets used to being without it. Like any kind of withdrawal, it sucks. But: You’ll be fine! Here are 10 freaky symptoms of caffeine withdrawal, and what you can do to make it through them on your way to living a healthier life.

1. Having Weird Dreams

This is one of the first symptoms that you might experience if you have never had caffeine before and suddenly drink a very strong cup of coffee or have an energy drink; this is also a symptom that you’re bound to experience if you suddenly stop drinking caffeine: Something which will lead to the symptoms of caffeine withdrawal as a whole. For most people, the symptom manifests in weird, usually very vivid dreams – and this is for people who usually claim they don’t dream at all or don’t usually remember their dreams.

This is because caffeine (and the withdrawal from it) can, and will affect your brain on a chemical level. The most you can do about this is wait for it to even out – or ask your doctor for some sleeping pills to get around the strange dreams it’s been causing. Most people don’t think this could be caffeine!
