4. Inflammatory Bowel
Another symptom that you want to look at carefully is inflammatory bowel. If you have irritable bowel disease, or IBS, it is entirely possible that it is caused by “leaky gut”. Some of the other names for this illness include Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Diverticulitis is another name as well. The connection between these illnesses and intestinal permeability is that the “leaky gut” is what starts and it leads to the development of these other illnesses. The link between IBS and “leaky gut” is extremely common.
It is so common that if you have irritable bowel syndrome, then your Doctor will likely test you for intestinal permeability anyway just to make sure. These are not serious conditions as long as you get treatment, although they can be quite annoying. Just make sure that you talk to your doctor if you suspect that you have intestinal permeability or IBS.
