3. Scraping Your Tongue Clean
Sometimes the small, white bumps that you find on the tongue will be the result of plaque and other nasties that have collected on your tongue throughout the day – or, well, week if you don’t brush your teeth and floss all that often. It’s recommended by most doctors that you scrape your tongue clean along with your daily oral hygiene routine.
This is where most of the bacteria collects, and if you have if manifesting in the form of small white bumps on your tongue then a few small changes to your routine and a tongue scraping should be enough to make a difference from the moment you start doing it. Most toothbrushes have a rough backing for being able to scrape the tongue with – most people didn’t realize what this is really for; you can also scrape the tongue with some simple coarse salt, and the salt will also have a general cleaning effect on the rest of the mouth at the same time.
