3. Change the Way You Walk
Supination has a lot to do with the way you walk: Of course, it’s pretty obvious that an inward curve of the heel or any differing curve of the foot is going to make you walk differently – but this in itself can be what worsens supination, and it can sometimes even be the root cause: If you have the type of posture that causes supination, continuing to walk in the same way (sometimes for years) can only cause further injury or a worsening condition.
If you find that you’re walking more on the sides of your feet at all, even if it doesn’t feel like a severe case of supination just yet, change the way you walk: Every time you find yourself not doing it, remind yourself to go back to the corrective way of walking.
Doing this improves supination by training the muscles of the ankle and foot properly.
