3. Disease of the Liver
The disease of the liver can be one of the potential causes of conditions like osteomalacia. This is because of the fact that the liver is the place in the body where toxins are processed and certain enzymes are produced – and if the body can’t process effectively, these toxins (and the subsequent lack of absorption for everything essential to the body) can cause a range of disorders of which osteomalacia is one.
Liver disease is a vast blanket term that encompasses general liver shutdown, alcoholic fatty liver disease and nonalcoholic liver disease among a range of others; symptoms of liver disease can include lower back pain, difficulty processing toxins like alcohol, fat or salt, experiencing problems with the gallbladder or yellowing of the skin.
Experiencing any of these symptoms with a combination of the symptoms that characterize osteomalacia will warrant an immediate appointment with your doctor to start the condition’s treatment.
