With compression, you will place a thick bandage around the hip and pelvis. Make sure the bandage isn’t tight because it will cause more pain. The bandage can stay in the area for days or a week at the most. The only time you will need to take it off is when bathing. You may want someone to assist you when placing the bandage on. Compressing helps to get rid of swelling.
