5. Reduce or completely eliminate soy and dairy.
While most people are under the impression that dairy and soy are good for their health (and in ways, they can be), they are actually bad for the health of your breasts. Believe it or not, soy and dairy products contain compounds that are similar to estrogen; therefore, consuming these products increases the number of estrogen levels in your body.
Again, while the cause of fibroadenomas is not clearly understood, scientific evidence does indicate that heightened estrogen levels can increase the risk of developing these benign lumps that develop within the breast. As such, it makes sense to eliminate anything from your diet that increases the production of estrogen, which would include dairy and soy-based food items. If you are unable to completely eliminate these foods from your diet, try to eat them as sparingly as possible to reduce breast lumps.
