3. Chop Burdock Root
When it comes to chopping the root, bearing in mind that you should be dealing with a very fresh and suitably firm ingredient, the selection of the correct knife is very important.
A poor workman always blames their tools it is said, and if you want to make yourself the perfect burdock root tea, you don’t want to leave any room for error or give yourself any excuses whatsoever. The sharpest knife in the drawer should do the trick, assuming you haven’t got a samurai sword to hand.
The burdock root needs to be chopped very coarsely until you are left with about 2 to 3 tablespoons of chopped burdock root. Obviously, the amount of burdock root that you chop will be determined by the amount of tea that you’re planning on making. If you’ve got people waiting for their drink though, they’ve probably headed out to get a cup of coffee by this point.
