Sore throat is another common sign of this virus. Having a sore throat usually means that you have a cold or flu. However, it can also mean that you are infected with this particular virus. Of course, there is no way to tell unless you are actually tested, but the risk factors will give you an indication as to whether or not you are sick from a normal disease or whether you might have contracted this virus.
For example, if you live in a region where outbreaks for this virus have been common or if you handle animals like swine on a regular basis, then there is much more of a case to build in favor of the Nipah virus. You should definitely get tested if you have a sore throat combined with any of the other symptoms that are listed here, particularly if you have at least one or more of the risk factors for getting this virus.
