2. Sports injuries are a common cause of getting a broken collarbone.
Sports that could cause a broken collarbone is football, basketball, and hockey, for example. With these sports, you end up landing on your shoulder, if someone hits you hard. These are competitive sports and everyone wants to win.
When a sports injury occurs, you won’t be able to play your sport for a while. Physical therapy and rest are needed in order to help get your shoulder back to normal. During this time, you won’t be able to move it, unless your physical therapist asks you to.
Any movement outside of physical therapy will prolong the healing process. When you’re able to play your chosen sport again, you have to be careful. In sports that involve direct hits, these injuries can’t be avoided. You may have to change positions in the sport you play to prevent it from happening again.
