Osteoporosis is when the bones become weak. Anything can cause the person to break their femur. The person doesn’t have to fall hard either. Since the bones are weak, it can cause the person to be unable to move their joints. If they try to move, it will cause pain. Most of the time when a person has osteoporosis and he or she gets injured, a wheelchair may be needed.
The person may not be able to walk again. It’s important for people with osteoporosis to be careful when walking anywhere. They could fall even in their homes. Muscle ointments may help temporarily, but it won’t cure the femur fracture.
Some people have to have a hip replacement. It may help him or her to walk again, but the person may still need to use a cane or walker.
