2. Dental Work
If you have recently had any type of dental work completed you might notice a canker sore developing inside of your mouth. Dental work that can cause stomatitis includes getting braces or dentures. You might also develop stomatitis after a root canal or having fillings placed. Stomatitis is caused by the dentist being inside of your mouth for a long period of time. The inside of the mouth is fairly sensitive and when you have dental work done it can cause you to experience inflammation in different areas of your mouth. If you develop a canker sore or general soreness after having dental work done, you can use antiseptic rinses to help ensure that your mouth stays clean and germ-free. You will want to brush gently. There are also over-the-counter medications that you can use to treat the canker sore. Most of the time the canker sore will go away on its own after a few days.
