2. Cruciferous Vegetables
These types of vegetables have shown to be powerful killers of cancer. They are also some of the greatest sources of vitamin C. Many cruciferous vegetables have a high amount of glutathione. This is often referred to as being the master antioxidant of the body.
The reason for this is because of its high ability to find and fight off free radicals in the body. Almost all brassica family members of these vegetables are good sources of phytochemicals known as isothiocyanates. These have been linked to preventing cancer. In addition, cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and cabbage also have indoles and sulforaphane.
These are two stimulators and strong antioxidants of detoxifying enzymes. These help to protect the DNA structure. Add a couple of these vegetables to three meals that are mostly plant-based each day in the form of a soup, stir fry or roasted vegetables. You can also eat them as snacks throughout the day.
