3. Nausea
Many women experience nausea when they are suffering from ovarian torsion. Nausea alone is not a symptom of the condition, but when it accompanies other symptoms such as fever, pain, and vomiting, it is can be an obvious symptom. Some women experience nausea before they experience any other symptoms. Since nausea is a symptom of many illnesses, most women don’t think much about it.
When nausea occurs with bleeding, women may assume it is related to their periods. It is not uncommon for women to feel nauseous in the days leading up to their periods or during them. When nausea occurs with a missed period, some women may mistake it for morning sickness. This is especially common in women who are trying to get pregnant.
Nausea that lasts for more than a few days or has no obvious cause is not normal. A pregnancy test can confirm or rule out pregnancy and should be taken before seeing a doctor. If nausea occurs with abdominal pain, seek medical attention immediately.
