15 Symptoms of Trichomoniasis

Search for Articles Here >>

Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease or STD that affects over three million people in the United States every year. It can affect both women and men. It can be treated and will go away within a few days to weeks. The sooner a person gets treatment, the sooner it will go away.

The best way to keep from getting trichomoniasis is by using condoms every time a person has sex and use them properly. Trichomoniasis comes from having different partners. One person may already have the STD and can spread to all their other sexual partners. It’s important to get tested often if a person has several sexual partners.

Even pregnant women can be exposed to trichomoniasis and affect her unborn child. In order for a person to find if they have been exposed to an STD like trichomoniasis, there are eight symptoms to look out for.

1. Painful Sexual Intercourse

is a symptom for women when they have trichomoniasis. During sex, the woman will not enjoy the sexual experience because she’ll be in pain. That, in turn, could ruin a stable relationship, especially if the man isn’t experiencing any of the same symptoms from having trichomoniasis. In fact, a person can only get trichomoniasis through intercourse.

Most men don’t have symptoms, so they may think that their sex partner is always experiencing pain during sex. If the pain persists, it could cause other problems for the woman, if left untreated. Once a woman notices she is having pain during sex frequently, she needs to seek medical attention right away to get to the root of the problem.

The symptom may go away on its own but may come back again if it’s left untreated. It may make having relationships complicated because it will be difficult to have a sexual relationship because sex will be painful.
