17 Home Remedies to Help Ease Whooping Cough Symptoms

Search for Articles Here >>

Whooping cough is a health condition that most people are already vaccinated against when they’re children, but there are still a handful of whooping cough cases diagnosed every year – and you could be at risk of picking up a pertussis infection if you’ve recently come into contact with anyone who has it, even if you have been previously vaccinated, and especially when your immune system is at risk.

Symptoms of whooping cough include a persistent wheezing cough, high-grade fever, and associated muscle pain; other symptoms can also include hernias and an increased risk of a heart attack or embolism as a result of the coughing.

It’s normally treated with antibiotics, but there are plenty of natural ways in which you can complement your current treatment and ease your symptoms.

Here are 8 great home remedies that you can use to help ease the symptoms associated with a whooping cough infection.

1. Honey and Turmeric

Honey and turmeric are two ingredients that have been around for thousands of years, and there are an increasing amount of scientific studies that now support what people have known all this time: Both of these ingredients are one of the best things that you can include in your regular diet, especially if you’re currently battling an infection or trying to recover from one.

Honey can help to ease the symptoms of a cough and boost your immune system, and the same can be said for turmeric. Both ingredients can be combined into a tea brewed with milk and drank a few times per week for the best effect, or they can be used in food: There are plenty of recipes out there that you can find for free on the internet that can tell you how to apply these two ingredients together.

A spoonful of honey can also be added to most herbal teas.
