3. Antioxidants
As well as catechins, cinnamon also contains a compound called cinnulin. This is an important antioxidant which should be able to help protect the cells and the heart against damage from free radicals.
In theory, this can help to stave off the visible signs of aging by avoiding cell damage that can add up to visible wrinkles. Likewise, it should be able to prevent mutated DNA which can copy and proliferate and ultimately lead to cancerous tumors.
