Rice cakes are made from what is basically puffed rice. This is something that most people know already and have eaten already – and have even enjoyed in the form of a puffed rice cereal that almost everyone will recognize. Yes, rice cakes are just puffed rice in the same way as the cereal – except they are puffed up in a much slower, more gradual way than the quick “popping” of rice-based cereals.
By themselves, we can say that rice cakes are healthy and contain almost no carbs or calories by themselves – rice cakes make a pretty cool base if you’re looking to make snacks, and you can even make a tower of rice cakes as a snack and you don’t even have to feel bad about it: It just depends on what kind of topping you’re choosing to put on the rice cakes along with it: It can be healthy.
