2. Gluten

Gluten can also trigger an attack of bile, that is to mean the body cannot process the fats and ingredients that are found in gluten – an ingredient that is found in most wheat-based products. You might have heard of gluten intolerance and celiac disease, and if gluten is already having a bad effect on your health then you should consider the idea that you might just very well have gluten intolerance and should be avoiding it anyway.

But it’s also possible that you suffer from bile attacks and gallbladder issues: Make sure that you check the labels of any foods that you buy from now on, and make sure that you find alternatives to gluten and wheat-based products if you suspect that it’s a problem for your health. 3. Turkey

If you think that you are experiencing any kind of issues with your gallbladder, then you should immediately take a look at your diet and start making some drastic changes to what you eat. It’s true that you are what you eat, and you shouldn’t indulge the craving that you have for exceptionally greasy, unhealthy and fatty foods – it’s these kinds of foods that are most likely to cause an attack of bile in people who are otherwise healthy, and repeated exposure isn’t great for your health either.

One of the things that should be avoided as much as possible if you have existing problems with your gallbladder is turkey, because of the fact that the meat can be extremely rich and fatty – especially if you eat it with a meal that happens to be very rich and loaded with salt, to begin with. Turkey should be replaced with meat alternatives.

""

4. Chocolate

Chocolate has for years been known as the food of the Gods, and you might already feel that way about it and consider yourself a die-hard chocolate addict. Are you the kind of person who eats chocolate by the truckload and will always have room for more chocolate in whichever form you can find it? Then you might have to consider scaling down – at least on the chocolate that contains a very high amount of cocoa.

If you already have existing gallbladder issues, then we can tell you that consuming more chocolate – while it’s one of the best-tasting things available to mankind – isn’t going to do your health any good, so scale down, change your diet and consider making an appointment with your doctor immediately. There are enough sweet alternatives to chocolate that aren’t going to cause a terribly serious gallbladder attack if you are still craving more sweet things.

""

Okay, let’s think about what most people consider to be their favorite, rich Thanksgiving or birthday meal. We’re typically talking about something that’s very rich, that’s very high in fat and that’s extremely unhealthy at the core of the meal – most people can look at their family’s Thanksgiving dinner and will be unable to argue this point. Yes, you know it’s unhealthy, and you know that’s why you do it!

But gravy is an essential part of the Thanksgiving meal happens to be just as unhealthy – and we wouldn’t recommend that you go nuts on the gravy the way you used to anymore. It’s going to be unhealthy for you, it’s likely going to clog up your arteries with far too much salt and it’s going to set you up for a lot of discomforts, bile and heartburn that will make you feel sorry you indulged your craving for gravy.

""

6. Pork Meat

Now that we’ve covered some classical meals like thanksgiving already, let’s think about another one. What about your family’s characteristic stew or the huge dinner everyone makes when it’s time for Christmas to roll around and the whole family shows up to the feast? For a lot of people, this ideal meal for family and holiday is pork meat: And you should know that this is, unfortunately, something else that you should be avoided if you want to stay healthy and keep away from a potential gallbladder attack.

Pork meat is known for being extremely high in sodium and fat, and those are the two things that you might want to avoid at all costs if you suffer from any kind of gallbladder or dietary issues – even heart problems. You can find many healthy alternatives for pork meat, and if you don’t want to go vegetarian, replace it with beef instead.

""

7. Real Butter

Butter can be an addiction all on itself. Chefs who know very well how unhealthy it can be often throw as much butter in their cooking as they can – and while many dishes require a fair amount of butter and some even a base that’s mainly butter, but there are many chefs who indulge in total butter overkill when they don’t need to – are you such a chef even when you’re cooking for yourself instead of to impress the masses?

It’s fine to use real butter, but if you’re using real butter to the point of complete excess then you are certainly asking for trouble – and asking to be attacked by your gallbladder to the point where you will regret it! Cut real butter out of your diet, or at least start to use it much more sparingly. If you don’t it leads to issues with your gallbladder and heart.

""

8. Processed Sausages

Okay, so we’re not saying that you have to cut meat out of your diet entirely and switch to something vegetarian – but we are saying that you have got to find more healthy alternatives to what you have been doing for your entire life up until now.

After all, if you find that you’re more unhealthy than you were ten years ago, then you have to realize that some kind of change in your life, health or diet is what prompted this to come about in the first place – and you have to make some more changes to stay as healthy as you possibly can.

If you are someone who loves a great sausage or two, realize that these areas unhealthy as a huge beef burger dripping in fat – even possibly more unhealthy than this. Find alternatives to cut this fatty, salty, processed meat out of your daily diet.

""

9. Coffee

Coffee is known for being good for your health instead of bad. One to two cups of coffee per day is recommended by many doctors for your health and your heart – and it’s said that drinking coffee before bed can stop attacks of sleep apnea, though for some it just means that they stay up all night instead.

Where do you side on the argument of coffee? While science accepts that coffee can be a great addition to your diet for your health, science also says that coffee should be consumed in extreme moderation – and if you have any issues with your gallbladder already, you should halt your coffee consumption or switch to decaf.

Consuming too much coffee can and will result in more health issues, including a bile attack to the coffee going straight to your kidneys and giving you a severe bladder infection. Coffee is great, but sometimes!

""

10. Full Cream Milk

If you are lactose intolerant, then you shouldn’t have to worry about this ingredient at all and you should just skip to the next one and read on. But most people are not lactose intolerant, and learning that they suddenly have to cut full cream milk out of their diet can leave them feeling confused – and with no idea what they should replace it with.

If bile from your gallbladder proves to be your problem, then you can usually simply switch to skim milk and experience a considerable amount of fewer problems when it comes to your health – this is enough because it’s the fat in the full cream milk causing your issues. But for some who are more susceptible to gall bladder attacks, they might benefit from cutting out milk entirely – whether you should or should not is entirely dependant on the severity of your current gallbladder attacks.

""

11. Cheese

So, how do you feel about cheese? When it comes to the dairy you should be avoided, don’t think that it’s just limited to full cream milk for the gallbladder diet – in fact, you should be avoiding things that are made from full cream milk as well, which is partially the reason for the avoidance of chocolate that we’ve discussed earlier. Avoid most kinds of cheese, this will be both because of the dairy content and the fat content of the cheese: Both of which can trigger a bile attack and leave you feeling particularly terrible.

If you still like to consume cheese, there are some alternatives that you can have without triggering a bile attack – pick cheeses that don’t contain nearly as much fat as the others and consider limiting your consumption and using a little less instead. There’s nothing wrong with it if you use it very sparingly.

""

12. Oranges

We’ve mostly talked about vegetables and other foods for the duration of this article, and you might’ve noticed that it’s the high fat and oil content in most foods that will be prone to trigger a bile attack in most people who already have existing gallbladder issues. But it’s not just foods and vegetables that you should worry about if you’re trying to steer clear of a gallbladder attack, but there are also some fruits that we’d say you should consider avoiding if you don’t want any kind of flare-up.

One of the fruits that should be avoided – not at all costs we’d say, but enough that you should limit your consumption if you are used to eating it every day – is oranges. This is because of the fact that they are a heavily acidic fruit, and we’d say that you should avoid oranges as much as you possibly can.

""

13. Onions

Onions aren’t the first thing on your mind when you think of fruits and vegetables that should be avoided if you want to stay away from a gallbladder attack – but it should be one of the most obvious. If you’ve ever felt the sting of a raw onion near your eyes, then you should realize why it can be a bad thing inside your body too.

It’s not recommended that you eat onions if you already have issues with your gallbladder and with bile because onions are more likely to increase your body’s acid production – and this can, in turn, make your gallbladder react, which causes the reaction that most people are trying to avoid when they think of their gallbladders. Onions fall under one of the foods that you’ll find it’s best to cut out entirely if you suffer from gallbladder issues – and your health will likely thank you.

""

14. Pizza

We’ve mentioned the general type of food that happens to be bad for you if you’re trying to stay away from gallbladder issues, and the gist of it is that you should avoid foods that are too high in sodium and very high in fat – any kind of fat. Now, let’s talk about the one food that’s become a favorite to literally millions of people all over the world: Let’s talk about pizza.

If you’ve been paying any kind of attention for the rest of this article, then you’ll notice that pizza turns out to be a combination of several of the foods you should be avoiding if you have issues with your gallbladder. And, it stands to reason that you should be avoiding pizza for the most part too – unless it happens that you can find some kind of viable alternative to it that’s much healthier for you instead.

""

15. Soups

Do you love eating soup? Well, that’s just fine. We have nothing against soup fans, and you can still continue eating just as much soup as you have eaten before – but you might just have to change the type of soup you are eating, or bring on some adaptations to the way you make it. Are you using a lot of butter and cream in your sauce to add to the extreme richness that makes your meal?

Are you adding cheese to your soup to add to its flavor – or are you making the whole base of the soup cheese from the start? Well, stop doing it! If you are trying to stay away from a gallbladder attack, there are a couple of things you will want to steer clear of – and the rich, creamy kind of soups that you very likely love is likely to trigger a bile attack.
