Kawasaki disease is a disorder that mainly affects children. It is when there is inflammation of the walls of certain arteries that are located throughout the entire body. The coronary arteries supply blood to the heart are affected. Kawasaki disorder affects the skin, lymph nodes, mucous membranes that are located inside of the mouth, throat, and nose. When it affects these parts of the body it’s known as mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome.

When the disease is present in the body, there is a high fever and peeling of the skin. Kawasaki disease can cause fear in parents and their children, but it is a curable disorder. Their child can live a normal life once it’s treated. There should be no serious damage to the body if it’s treated within 10 days of onset of the disease. There are eight tips to ease Kawasaki disease symptoms safely. You should always check with your doctor before trying any of these remedies.

1. Aspirin

will help ease the symptoms of Kawasaki disease safely. With aspirin, it will help with inflammation, pain, and fever. You will only need to take it when needed. It’s important to just take the required amount on the bottle of aspirin or what is suggested by your doctor. Aspirin is good to take to prevent clotting of the blood.

Even after the fever goes down, your child may still need to take a low dose of aspirin to help with a coronary artery aneurysm if it develops. If the child develops chickenpox, the aspirin needs to be stopped. When taking aspirin, take it with a full glass of water. The aspirin won’t work right away. You may need to sit or lie down to let the aspirin do its job. Just because it won’t work as fast, there is no need to up the dosage. You could cause serious harm to the child if you do.

2. Take short walks

to help with the symptoms of Kawasaki disease. Walking is an easy form of exercise that can be taken at any pace. Since the child has Kawasaki disease, you will want the child to walk slow. The child can walk for 10 minutes a day. Always ask the child how he or she feels. You don’t want to push him or her too much.

Always take water with you, so the child can drink it when he or she gets thirsty. For instance, take the child from one end of your block to the next a few times. Once the child is tired, take them back home. You can even let one parent drive beside the child, while the other parent walks with the child. If the child can’t walk any further, he or she can just get the car and go home. This will be easy on the child’s body.

With acupuncture, needs are inserted in the person’s skin where the pain is located.

The child may think this is weird to him or her, but it can help with any pain that they could be having. It can also reduce any fever that they’re having. This method is good if the child’s symptoms are mild, but if the child is having heart problems, you may want to listen to the child’s doctor. Acupuncture is a temporary treatment.
