Schistosomiasis is a rare disease that only occurs in tropical and subtropical regions. It\u2019s an infection that doesn\u2019t happen that often in America. In fact, there are less than 20,000 cases reported each year. Schistosomiasis occurs when a person got into infected water in tropical and subtropical regions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The freshwater has parasitic worms, urine, and feces that came from animals and infected people in the area. Once contact is made with the skin, it enters the bloodstream and after a while, symptoms will occur. Infected people in the region continue to use the water because they are unable to get clean water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Symptoms usually appear a couple of months after being in contact with the infected water. Once the symptoms appear, it\u2019s important to seek medical attention right away because the infection won\u2019t go away on its own. It needs to be treated with the right medication, which will clear the infection in one to two days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Abdominal pain in the liver and spleen is a universal symptom. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Since the infection gets into the bloodstream<\/a>, it can travel to the other organs. If you decide to not a treatment for it, it\u2019ll cause your liver and spleen to stop working, which can cause death. The water in the tropical or subtropical country is making you sick. Parasitic worms are inside of you because of your contact with the infected water. It is best to stay hydrated as much as possible. The fever won\u2019t go away, but you still need to stay hydrated. Place a cold compress over your head. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you\u2019re able to get out of bed, take yourself to a medical professional where medical tests will be given to help your fever. You\u2019ll start to feel better once you get antibiotics into your body.

The people who live in these poor regions are unable to get the help they need. They will end up dying because they can\u2019t bear the headache. Headaches can cause a change in personality because it has become severe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\r\n
