5. Muscle Stiffness
There are a thousand different health conditions which might contribute to muscle stiffness, and many of these conditions can be put down to simple fatigue – not stretching before you exercise, exercising too much in a short period of time and just downright straining your muscles are some of the things that can be pointed to as the cause. Sometimes sleeping on the wrong type of pillow could even be behind the symptoms.
But there are times where the explanation isn’t as simple as this; in this case, you should be looking to more serious health conditions such as osteomalacia. In some cases it can even be because of a related muscle or neurological condition – muscle stiffness has been reported in cases of MS, and everything from epilepsy through to dementia.
To consider muscle stiffness a potential symptom of osteomalacia, note if you are experiencing any other symptoms at the same time.
