That possibility, is that garlic could help you to wake up and become more alert first thing in the morning. The reason this is possible is that it is the nitric oxide you get from garlic that gives it its vasodilatory properties. This nitric oxide also serves a role in the brain when we wake up and is produced in large quantities.
The basic role of nitric oxide is to encourage activity in nearby neurons. In this way, it appears to help wake up the brain in a kind of wave-like pattern.
