4. Avocados
Flush with almost 20 vitamins and minerals including potassium and fiber, avocados help lower high lipid profiles in a couple ways. The high concentration of monosaturated fats were shown in a 2015 study to help reduce levels of “bad” cholesterol in the blood by minimizing cholesterol buildup on artery walls.
Avocados also contain phytosterol compounds which inhibit cholesterol absorption in the intestines according to the Journal of Nutrition. Your average avocado may contain anywhere from 200 to 300 calories, so while eating them is good for you, moderation is key as well.
