5. Body Hair
You may also notice body hair over certain parts of your body. If you notice thin, fine hair growing on other parts of your body, even while the hair on your head is growing brittle or falling out, then it could lead to a diagnosis of anorexia. People with anorexia often grow fine white hair on their bodies. They typically find these hairs on their arms, legs and chest.
It is a phenomenon that is restricted almost exclusively to anorexia, and it is one of the most unusual symptoms of anorexia that you can have. The reason that these hairs grow is due to the bodies desire to insulate itself. These hairs are attempting to trap body heat before it is gone. You must get enough nutrition, and you must have enough oxygen carried throughout your body by your red blood cells to function as a healthy human being.
