4. People That Should Avoid Vaccination
As with any vaccination protocol, there are guidelines set by the medical community for people that should not receive the typhoid vaccine. If you fall into any of these categories, speak to your physician before committing to a vaccination.
• Doctors should not administer the vaccine to children under the age of 2-years old.
• Anyone who has experienced a previous adverse response to the vaccine or any other vaccine should avoid inoculation.
• Speak to your doctor about your allergies before you receive the vaccine. Some people may be allergic to specific components of the vaccination.
• Anyone who is experiencing some form of illness, such as the flu or sinusitis, should avoid treatment until they are feeling healthy again.
• People with weak immune systems should also avoid vaccination.
If you fall into this category and are traveling to a high-risk area, consider using alternative protection strategies. Carry anti-bacterial hand cleaner on your person at all times, and ensure you wash your hands before eating or drinking. Never share food or drink with anyone.
