5. Hormone Therapy
There are many things for which your doctor might prescribe hormone therapy. To name just a few, hormone therapy can be beneficial to women going through PMS – and it’s also sometimes prescribed for women who have general hormonal imbalances. Sometimes, hormone therapy can also help women who are suffering from depression or lack of libido.
Hormone therapy is also many times prescribed for men, depending on which hormones in their body are lacking and why. It’s a great way to correct imbalances in the body, but it is a treatment that is not without some flaws: For one, many who undergo hormone therapy will have side effects such as growing hair in places they are not used to. These side effects can also include gallstones, which can be very painful – but are thankfully easy to deal with in its early stages. Ask your doctor about minimizing your gallstone risk factors.
