5. Whole Grains
When you are dieting and trying to lose weight or if you have been diagnosed as prediabetic, or have diabetes, you learn that whole grains are the way to go. These types of grains can be extremely healthy and are a much better dietary choice overall.
However, if you are taking amoxicillin it is best to avoid any type of whole grain. This includes things such as lentils, brown rice, whole grain bread, etc. The main reason for this is because these types of foods have a high amount of fiber. Normally, it is important to make sure that you are getting enough fiber in your diet. Fiber is great for the digestive system overall.
However, when you are on antibiotics, eating foods such as whole grains that are high in fiber can actually slow down the absorption of food in the stomach. This slow down of food absorption can cause a delay in the rate that the antibiotics are absorbed.
