4. Tremors
Patients who are dealing with the effects of cerebral palsy may find that they start to experience erratic tremors from time to time. The intensity of the tremors varies from person to person, depending on the extent of the palsy.
The medical community describes a tremor as un uncontrollable and unintentional movement of the limbs. Tremors may affect one muscle group or multiple muscle groups, and the condition may last for minutes or hours, depending on the person.
In most cases, tremors are not a severe concern for CP patients, with most passing in a few minutes after the patient practices some medication or breathing exercises. Some patients with severe tremors may require the use of muscle relaxants to prevent spasms and reduce the severity of the condition.
Tremors occur as twitches in muscles or under the surface of the skin. Action tremors occur when the patient moves while resting tremors occur with no contributing motion.
