3. Headache
Headaches are often experienced by people who suffer from this type of infection. Although the infection begins in the digestive tract, it can spread to other parts of the body. A person may suffer a headache before the infection spreads, or the headache may be a sign that the infection has spread. Headaches are common with most types of infections and can be caused by many other things as well.
Without other symptoms present, most people don’t relate their headaches to an infection or illness. When the headache occurs alongside a fever, chills, and fatigue, it becomes obvious that there is an infection causing it. Over the counter medications can help relieve the pain of a headache, but they cannot treat the underlying cause.
The headaches may return as long as the infection is in the body and may get worse if the infection spreads to other parts of the body.
