4. Grilled Red Meat
Grilled food can be quite delicious. Unfortunately, scientists have discovered that preparing certain types of meat on the grill, especially those meats that are processed, can release a carcinogen that is known as heterocyclic aromatic amines.
When red meat is grilled to the point of being well done, the molecular and chemical structure of the meat will be changed. While the meat that has been grilled may taste wonderful, it can actually be quite harmful. It is recommended that instead of grilling red meat you should broil, bake, or prepare the meat in a skillet instead.
Grilling chicken and pork can have this same effect, so while it may be your favorite summer pastime, stepping away from the grill can actually reduce your risk of developing certain types of cancer. In fact, lowering the amount of red meat that is in your diet can reduce the risk of developing stomach cancer.
