14 Effective Home Remedies to Treat Polio

Search for Articles Here >>

Polio is a health condition that’s a lot less common today than a few decades ago, and in some parts of the world polio (also known as poliomyelitis) has already bee eradicated entirely – but travelers to certain parts of the world and people with particularly compromised immune systems might still be likely to contract the poliovirus if they were to come into contact with it.

The most recent outbreak of polio cases took place between Pakistan and Afghanistan, where it put many locals and travelers at risk of contracting the condition, and it can still happen to you.

There is no cure for poliomyelitis, and the majority of clinical treatments that are prescribed in cases of polio will be only to treat and ease the symptoms of the condition.

Here are 8 great effective home remedies to treat polio that can make living with the condition and its consequences considerably easier.

1. Shoe Inserts

Physical deformities are one of the more severe symptoms of having contracted a polio infection, and these deformities usually last for life – although life can be made a lot easier if you have ever had polio and have to live with a health condition for the rest of your life. The physical deformities that occur with polio tend to affect the extremities and limbs, and this can lead to a great deal of discomfort and pain throughout life – but doesn’t have to.

There are many ways in which to deal with the physical effects that contracting a polio infection can leave behind, and one of the best ways is through the simple use of shoe inserts. The physical effects associated with polio can lead to changes in gait and bone structure, and shoe inserts can help a great deal when it comes to moving around without pain. Many times a cane or walker can help, too.
