12. Direct Trauma
Direct trauma to the brain or brainstem can also result in an almost immediate loss of consciousness; this goes with a lot of the same symptoms that you will see in the case of a concussion, though in the case of some direct trauma to the brain the symptoms can be expected to be much more severe – and might even include symptoms as severe as bleeding on the brain.
You should seek medical attention immediately if you have experienced direct trauma to the brain or have seen someone who has: The condition will need to be treated immediately, especially if it results in losing consciousness at any point. In the case of direct trauma to the brain, ensure that the neck has not been injured at the same time – this is often what makes this particularly dangerous, and you could break someone’s neck simply by moving them around in the wrong manner.
