5. Creams
Although creams may not make your shingles rash go away, they will at least ease the discomfort caused by the rash. One of the reasons these rashes become painful and itchy is because of dryness, and creams keep the area moist.
In addition, if the rash area becomes too dry, it can crack and cause pus to leak. Apply creams several times a day and cover with loose bandages, if necessary.
Look for creams that contain capsaicin, which is the main ingredient in hot peppers. Capsaicin is an anti-inflammatory agent and can relieve the pain of rashes.
