5. Direct Contact
Oral thrush can usually be contracted through direct contact with the bacteria that cause the condition, and this is one of the most common ways in which the condition is passed from one person to another; the contact that spreads the bacteria can occur in many different ways, some which don’t even seem obvious at the time – but at the later examination are clear ways in which exposure to the bacteria could have happened.
Sometimes oral thrush is spread through direct contact such as kissing, but it can also be spread in a residual capacity such as through shared pacifiers; children are fond of transferring objects into their mouths, and this can be a potential breeding ground for conditions such as thrush.
This is also the reason why the majority of children to spend any time in a playschool will contract it at least once during some point in their childhood.
