Signs that you have inflammation of the knee are usually easy to spot: The knee will be painful, swollen and sometimes red – this can be worsened by stepping on the knee, and some might even find that getting out of a warm bath and stepping on the knee worsens the inflammation and changes it to a throbbing or stabbing pain instead.
