5. Ice
Remember that the lack of movement is caused by inflammation of the tendons that control the fingers. Inflammation is in turn often caused by an injury or similar, but if you try icing the area, then you can reduce the swelling and allow it to go back down.
Don’t hold the ice pack directly on the area, but instead use something in-between to prevent tissue damage to the skin. Likewise, don’t use a cold compress for more than ten minutes at a time.
You might also find that the cold against the area is numbing and can be helpful for treating the pain and discomfort.
