Search for Articles Here >>

Cashews are a nut that are very popular throughout the entire world. The mildly salty and buttery flavor make these nuts a popular snack. The scientific name for cashews is anacardium occidentale and cashews are really not a nut, but rather are a seed as they are grown attached to a fruit. Cashews were originally found growing in Brazil and not long after their discovery were exported. They are now grown in many areas that have a subtropical climate.

Cashews are consumed by many and are extremely flexible when it comes to adding them into many different types of dishes. They can even be made into a butter to use as an alternative to regular butter. They can also be an alternative for peanut butter if someone is allergic to peanuts. In addition to tasting great and being flexible for recipes, there are also numerous health benefits for consuming cashews.

1. Help Build Blood

Cashews offer a high amount of iron and copper. These are both important when it comes to producing red blood cells in the body. Red blood cells are very important as they are what help carry hemoglobin throughout the body. Hemoglobin is a protein that binds with oxygen. This binding helps to supply the cells located throughout the body. When you consume cashews it can improve your blood count overall.

When your blood count is higher, it can help to boost your energy levels. Oxygen levels and supported red blood cells are extremely important to your overall health. For this reason, adding some cashews to your healthy diet can help to improve your blood production overall. When you eat cashews and improve your blood levels, you are going to feel much better. This is just one of the reasons to consider adding a serving of cashews to your daily diet.
