7. Shock due to Toxicity
Going into shock is another late-stage symptom of this illness. Going into shock means that a person has lethargy and is not very responsive. Someone who is in shock may fail various eye dilation tests and they may be barely responsive when you try to speak to them. Shock is what happens when the body starts to shut down completely and that is a very big worry.
You can tell when someone is in shock because their pupils will not respond to light in the same way that someone will when they are healthy and they may have cooler skin, a rapid heartbeat, increased blood pressure, and find it difficult to respond to questions. When someone is in shock, the best thing you can do is wrap them up in a blanket and contact emergency services right away.
