4. Elevating is a home remedy to relieve a femur fracture.
It will reduce pain and swelling. It is difficult to elevate a hip, but it can be done. The only way it can be done is by reclining your feet up, so that your hip is elevated. This should be done every time you are sitting down. Even if you’re using a wheelchair, you’ll need to keep it elevated. Place a couple of pillows underneath the hip and foot to make it more comfortable.
Young adults who attend school can elevate their foot in a chair with pillows underneath. When the person has to get up, someone will assist him or her. Don’t try to take the foot off of the chair by yourself because you’ll start to feel pain in your hip. At work, this may not be able to be done because it may be uncomfortable, especially if you have an office job.
