5. Pinched Nerve
The type of pain that occurs following a pinched nerve in the upper back is usually fairly easy to differentiate from other types of upper back pain, due to the particular type of pain that a person feels.
Pain in the upper back caused by a pinched nerve can usually come with a tingling sensation and even some numbness. Annoyingly for the affected person, a pinched nerve can come on almost suddenly and with no real warning. Sometimes a sudden awkward movement or overuse of a particular part of the upper back can cause a nerve to become pinched.
In some cases, the pinched nerve will resolve itself without treatment and sometimes just as suddenly as it came on. If the pain persists for a long time though, the pinched nerve could be indicative of a disc herniation, and so some kind of treatment would be advisable to help resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
