3. Always wash your hands
when preparing food and before you eat to prevent any type of bacteria, such as listeria. Even when you go out to eat at a restaurant, always wash your hands before you eat your meal. It may even be a good idea to carry hand sanitizer in your purse or pocket. That way you don’t have to touch any additional areas that could be contaminated.
When preparing food at home, you should wash your hands often. Most people just wipe their hands with a towel and keep on cooking, but your hands are not clean. Once you put your hands back onto the food, you’re spreading more germs, which will spread to other people in the home that you’re cooking for. Make sure that everyone in the home washes their hands before they eat as well. Use soap and hot water and dry off with a clean towel.
