Runners are at risk of injuring their femur because they run long distances and over time cause stress on the bones. This is called a stress fracture. The bones become cracked because there is too much weight bearing on the bones. Runners tend to believe that the only way to lose weight quickly is by running. This may be true, but too much running isn’t good. Jogging and walking is the best alternative.
A person can lose weight by walking or jogging. Jog one day and walk the next. When jogging, try not to jog long distances because it can have the same effect as running. Ballet dancers can get a femur fracture as well. They have to extend their legs often when they dance. They may fall when they dance as well. They also have to have their feet in different positions.
