15 Foods to Lower Parathyroid Hormone Naturally

Search for Articles Here >>

The parathyroid hormone is produced by the parathyroid glands. Some people develop hyperparathyroidism. This is a condition where the parathyroid glands will produce too much of the parathyroid hormone. This hormone is responsible for regulating the amount of phosphorus and calcium in the body, both of which are important for strong teeth and bones. The hormone works by controlling the amount of calcium that is taken from the bones, lost in the urine, and absorbed into the intestines. If there is too much parathyroid hormone being released, the levels of calcium in the urine and blood will go up and bones might start to lose calcium, which can lead to osteoporosis. Some of the symptoms of hyperparathyroidism include bone and joint pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, kidney stones, lack of appetite, and fatigue. Treatment will vary, but there are some foods that you can eat to lower the amounts of the parathyroid hormone naturally.

1. Milk

If your parathyroid hormone is too high, it can cause your body to lose calcium, which can lead to bone loss and other health issues. One food that you should be making sure is in your diet is milk. The reason for this is because milk has high amounts of calcium. This will help to replace some of the calcium that is being lost because of hyperparathyroidism. Adding some milk to fortified cereal is a great way to improve your calcium levels. You can also drink a glass of milk with any meal in order to get some much-needed calcium into your body. In addition to helping with your calcium levels, milk can also help improve your mood overall. Milk contains important proteins that help you process both serotonin and dopamine. Both of these are important when it comes to improving your mood.
