4. Fever
Fever is one of the symptoms that most people shrug off as just another episode of the flu. That said, while it’s true that fever is one of the main symptoms of influenza, it can also be caused by other, more severe diseases. Furthermore, even if it is “just influenza” it’s important to remember that thousands of people die from influenza every year.
Another disease that could cause a fever is adenocarcinoma. Whenever the adenocarcinoma tries to spread from one organ to another, the immune system will react by raising your body temperature with the hopes of exterminating cancer. Of course, heat isn’t enough to kill off cancer cells. For that, you’d need radiation.
But that won’t stop your immune system from giving you a fever in an effort to halt the progress of adenocarcinoma. If you come down with a fever, especially one that lasts beyond three days, head to your doctor immediately.
