Exercise doesn’t have to be difficult. Walking for at least 30 minutes a day is good for a healthy heart. As you get used to walking 30 minutes, work your way up to an hour a day. You will begin to lose weight in addition to eating a healthy diet.
On a rainy day, you can still exercise inside of the home with DVDs or using YouTube. YouTube has a ton of fitness videos for beginners to advanced exercisers. Cardio is good for a healthy heart, but you will need to incorporate strength training into your routine at least twice a week.
You don’t necessarily need weights. You can use your body weight. Since you have a heart murmur, you don’t want to strain on heavyweights. With any exercise program, you should always consult with your physician beforehand.
