4. Reduces Chances of Clotting
Blood clots can be dangerous, and they can sometimes even be fatal. There are plenty of medical conditions which can lead to an increased risk of developing blood clots, which can, in turn, put you at an increased risk of having a heart attack or stroke – and if you think about the fact that blood clots can originate from (and travel to) almost anywhere in the body, then the danger becomes rather obvious.
Blood clots can form in the legs for various reasons, including after surgery because of the fact that most people don’t move their legs enough afterward. They can also happen because of certain medications, and if you haven’t moved your legs for a prolonged amount of time (which caused clots to form), such as a long flight or bus ride.
Wearing compression socks does a lot for improving circulation, and it can also greatly reduce the chances of developing blood clots, particularly after surgery.
