The rash may be itchy as well. It is a good idea to not scratch the rash, even though, you’ll be tempted. Applying over-the-counter creams will not help at all. The rash may spread to other areas of the body if you happen to scratch it since you’re unlikely to wash your hands every time you touch it. Don’t place a bandage over the rash. The rash needs to get air. Since the rash won’t heal in a week, it’s best to let a medical professional examine it.
Blood will be drawn to determine what disease you have. Prescription medication for the disease needs to be taken as soon as possible. If you don’t take it, the rash will become worse. The infection will clear in a couple of days, but the longer you wait to take the prescribed medication, it’ll continue to be bothersome.
