4. Changes in Habits
You should always take note of your bowel movements and note any changes. While this sounds like a disgusting habit, most doctors recommend that you at least take the occasional look to see what’s been coming out of you: How else are you going to know if there’s something wrong? One of the first warning signs of colon cancer is a sudden change in your stools or bathroom habits.
You might notice that it takes a little longer to finish up than it used to, or it might start to feel like you have to go to the bathroom a lot more often – only to find that it’s a false alarm once you have yourself sat down and ready. It might also be the opposite, and you might be rushing to the bathroom every five minutes. Always take note of any changes, especially ones in the frequency, consistency, and color.
